After that, the corporate business applications become the next focus of attention . After going through the screening process , the management decided to use the ERP applications of the Oracle ( still used today ) . " Sampoerna is put on Oracle , while Philip Morris worldwide wear SAP. Looking ahead , of course, must be the same . Currently , in order to integrate the system . According to Sugiharto Hartono , Director of Sales , Planning , System & Development of PT Panamas , the use of Oracle 's ERP covers almost all critical business processes , ranging from accounting and finance , manufacturing , to procurement and management of finished goods.

Oracle ERP is also used in HMS subsidiary , PT Panamas ( corporate sales and distribution HMS ) and PT Nusantara Reliable Logistics ( logistics and warehousing ) . " Business units under the auspices of Sampoerna also use application developed to complement the ERP solution . Evidence has modern IT systems in HMS also looks at the supply chain system (supply chain management) . With the provision of a fairly sophisticated system , according to Sugiharto , when the PM entered does not happen " revolution " in the aspect of IT at HMS . He prefers to refer to the changes brought about PM as development and additions only. " Our main goal is to get the power of synergy between Sampoerna and Philip Morris . We maintain what has been going well , and take advantage of what is already owned by Philip Morris to improve the situation .

CHAPTER IV
IMPLEMENTATION

Implementation of an ERP system is a continuous process. Once started it is not possible anymore stopped and there is no point of perfection. There is only a refinement process that was stalled. Then the ERP assessment must also be carried out in earnest. Many factors need to be considered in the ERP selection. In general, the ERP into Indonesia has proven success. However the success in other countries can not necessarily be a guarantee for us . Human resource issues and infrastructure is also a determining factor of ERP will continue to grow according to the demands of consumers. What is clear on the future development of the ERP will emphasis on several things , namely , more customer service support , better support specific vertical industries (vertical industry) , and also supports the decision making process (decision support) .

ERP future will also be more flexible in the implementation, use and way of financing. So also many benefits for PT. HM Sampoerna in building the entire information technology sector can easily get whatever information they need as well as the Company is able to directly respond to the Fast respond to changes in cigarette recipe. After the ERP is applied, the whole information data can be quickly coordinated to all departments. When a computer requires a new staff and the manager was not in the office and had to wait for approval, this is one thing that is not efficient. Once IT is applied, it can immediately notify staff via a network so that managers can directly give consent, so that with the information technology such barriers have been overcome.

PT. HM Sampoerna plans to build IT in the long term as well as the allocated US $ 5 million annually. Its construction was not only done by internal and regional IT team, but helped by many vendors, both foreign and local, such as IBM, Sigma and Mitrais. "Development of IT was meant to make business processes more effective, accurate and fast," said Aryani. "Also, to be integrated with a worldwide system of Philip Morris In view Kristianus Yulianto , IT analyst from an IT consulting firm , could provide important benefits for HMS , namely the adoption of a new tool or technology from the PM 's proven reliability . That is, as long as IT infrastructure and PM technology is already very well known and a best practice in the tobacco industry. In practice in the field, the technology will affect all levels in HMS . For the top level would be useful in the analysis and decision making; and the mid-level function in controlling and operational analysis; whereas at lower levels can simplify the process. "In the end, will increase efficiency and productivity”. Additionally, it automatically will awaken a new and more positive culture, and supports the company's performance.
